LinkedIn is a powerful networking tool. But if you're not using it to its full potential, you're missing out on opportunities. In this episode of Cash In On Camera, seasoned Business Advisor Jon Keel shares what the 1% of LinkedIn users who get results do differently.
Here’s a glimpse of what you’ll hear…
▶️ [1:28] Let me go back. If I may just address that first question, LinkedIn actually says that 99% of its over 830 million users, that's 830 million users, don't use it effectively.
▶️ [3:47] Well, the first thing you wanna do is nail your profile and your profile or if I come fast forward from 15, 20 years ago. Almost 20 years ago, it was really a job board. You put your resume there, that was it. But today I look at LinkedIn, and your profile as being more of a landing page.
▶️ [5:27] And again, people were saying, "Wow, you're so smart." I said, "No, I never wanna be the smartest guy in the room. I just wanna hang out with them." And I hang out with some very smart people relative to LinkedIn. So the point is that we don't have time to get into all the detail, obviously on that, but at the same time, find somebody that you trust that you know they're doing it right.
▶️ [7:59] So let's talk since you are all about performance-based marketing, about being able to measure you have an engineering background. We wanna know what are the top people, the people who are really benefiting from their involvement, from their visibility on LinkedIn, and what are the top 1%, rather than the 99% who are not optimizing it. What are the key things that the top 1% who are getting results on LinkedIn are doing?
▶️ [9:38] LinkedIn is not a transactional medium. It's a relational medium, big difference. Many people quite frankly screw up on LinkedIn because they're in cell mode and you don't need to be in cell mode. Right. Just put good stuff out there. Because at the end of the day, people don't really care what you do, they care who you are. And who you are can show through one of your writings and in your videos.
▶️ [11:52] When I go on Google and I look, there are questions, people say, "Is LinkedIn dying?" and I think to myself, "No it's growing." There's like there were 66.8 million monthly active users, or there are currently, and that's up from 58 million in 2018. It's growing. But there may be a misconception for some reason that it's dying. It's not.
▶️ [16:46] Yeah. Well, I definitely know that from what I've learned from you, just in the short time, I've known you you are the real deal. Like you are immersed in it. You're doing the work and you are so giving of your information. I listened. I watched one of your webinars and learned a ton through that. And I just knew, I was like, "Jon's my guy. I gotta get him on Cash In On Camera because you're so giving so generous. Really."
