As a Real Estate professional you are tasked with no only selling houses, but yourself as well. Here are five techniques to stand out in a sea of agents, get noticed online and make build your following:

You may have already hired a videographer to shoot your listing videos and maybe you're gone so far as to record drone aerials too. But to humanize your marketing you must appear on camera. Position yourself to get found online, become a local celebrity and gain recognition. Using direct-to-camera video effectively is a very rich skill set. MARKET FOR TODAY

Stop marketing like it's 1999! Everyone, and I mean everyone is on Facebook. Do what works today. Go to where people are today. They're on their mobile phones and they're checking Facebook multiple times per day. They're also on YouTube consuming untold amounts of videos daily.

Promote your lifestyle, interests, hobbies, community events, personality, humour, family, style

MEDIA MINDSET

Invest time in creating content as if you're a media company. Optimize your posts for conversion. You could have an admin help you with this or an assistant if you have one. You're going to get far bigger ROI by creating content than by putting your business card in yet another glass jar. From a video perspective, I'm not suggesting that you go out and shoot long, boring home movies but what you can do is create media that converts by structuring it properly with a simple intro and extro.

MESSAGE

In order to stay top of mind, get found online and build your personal brand you need to publish content regularly. Preferably once per week or once every 2 weeks at minimum. It doesn't have to be a big production to get a valuable message out in front of your buyers and sellers. It can be as simple as an in-the-moment 1-minute video shot on your smartphone on location at an open house posted to your Facebook page directly from the app on your phone. Consider publishing a regular on-location vlog (video-blog post) again recorded with your phone. You don't need to write out a long script for these types of videos. All you need is a bit of inspiration, a few bullet point form notes and a push of a button and you're set. The key is to recognize opportunities for content, provide value always, structure your content and know that it doesn't have to be perfect to be effective.
